I noticed that the version of wormux in the upcoming Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) is 0.8.5.

That a shame because this version of Ubuntu is a Long Term Support release, so it will probably be around for quite a while. I know there is a PPA you can add, but...

Any chance of getting 0.9 in there? Feature freeze is tomorrow I think.

I'm no expert on packaging, but basically, an old version of wormux is in Debian. The package maintainers should really have updated it by now. A wormux dev might need to ping one of the package maintainers and let them know there's a new version out.

Once the new package was in Debian, you could (if it was fairly soon) ask for a feature freeze exception to get it into the new Ubuntu. You might not get it, but wormux is such a non-essential package they're more likely to accept it. http://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess

The wormux package details for debian sid are here:

As i explain to FUZxxl on #wormux :

at every new release we sent a mail to all wormux past packagers who suscribe to wormux-update@gna.org
we can't do more
it's not our problem if debian or ubuntu don't have packager for wormux
we do the effort to manage a ppa
that's more than we have time to do
archlinux have 0.9 since the day after the release
we can't find a packager for all distribution
we lack of time

That's my opinion.

Everybody can do that... you don't need to be wormux dev to do that...
