Hello,
I notice this section later, so this is a "cross-post" of:

So my suggestions for the shotgun are:
- add push-back to it, i.e. if you shoot someone he should be pushed some way away (ideally this should depend on the distance shooter - target)
- increase damage to the area/ground, at least 5 to 10 times as it is currently

I thought I had mistaken a bit the config file, so it seems to me modifiable right now:
0) backup data/game_mode/classic.xml, it's better to have a valid copy around (might be needed for online games for instance)
1) edit data/game_mode/classic.xml
2) search <shotgun>
3) add below
<speed_on_hit>20</speed_on_hit>
<explosion_range>15</explosion_range>
4) Modify speed_on_hit value, explosion_range and damage parameters until satisfied with the result in game

You must exit the game between each file modification. It may not lead to anything interesting for various reasons, but it would be interesting to have this feedback anyway.

Problem here is by increasing speed_on_hit and explosion_range, the dealt damage gets higher, is there another setting which doesn't affect the inflicted damage?
Of course the original damage can be decreased, but its a little fiddle to get the original damage then.


Another thing, these settings doesn't affect the ground damage (if you shoot in the ground) at all, what are the setting therefore?

Yeah that's what I noticed about the damage, but thought it was mostly a tuning problem. When a character hits something with some speed, it is damaged, so, unfortunately, the speed_on_hit also results in more damage.

About the ground damage, I dug further: shotgun explosion range is unconditionally set by the code to 1. Modifying the code allows the damage to be applied. I'll propose that change to the other developers.

Until then, though, I'm interested in your tweaking the speed_on_hit + damage.
