Hi,
I came across this great game some time ago. I accidently found this Wiki page. It sounds like there is a port to Android in planning/progress.
Can there be some general information already? Like on what devices it's planned to make it work, how the controls will be?
It would be very nice to have some further details about the current state of the port

Just have a look at our mailinglist:

We are working on that performance issue for now. So, the next version will probably be a bit faster than 0.9.2.

I will soon have the Nexus One so if you need a tester I am present

You have to discuss that with kurosu. But please be aware, that the performance may be a horrible (5-12 FPS).
Current implementation does everything in software unfortunately. I'm not yet satisfied with performance: though it achieves 15fps in 16bits mode without sound, it lags horribly on occasion. So for now I won't release anything.
Because of my phone broken opengl es(spica, samsung, shame on you), I'm not sure if hardware acceleration is possible. But it would probably need android 1.6 if not 2.1 and a 500+MHz cpu, probably armv6. The magic seems to be the low limit.

kurosu:
I have an archos 5 with android 1.7 (or 1.6, not sure)... I am not afraid of alpha software.... where are the source ? I could help for this port...
Thanks !

Source is already present in svn. It's the build environment that is a major PITA: you have to provide almost all shared libs yourself (like for the Win32 port).
The icing on the cake: debugging native code is a joke with android, it has never worked for me and a number of other developers. Add to it the growing fragmentation of the Android platform, and I'm afraid it'll soon end in a nightmare.

ok, thanks ! I will try when I add more time...
Is that the phone must be root to install?

I don't need access to root-only features. But currently, I haven't studied much further the packaging: I can produce it, no problem, but I don't know how to publish it properly.
Currently, the only way to install it is using the adb tool from the Android SDK.
I also have made good progress regarding speed, and I think now it's more usability issues. They are obvious, so I don't think it's worth publishing the apk for now. It's probably only a matter of a couple weeks, though.

I just got my Google Nexus One and I really want to test Wormux, but I do not understand exactly how to install it. Could someone explain this to me? In french if possible?

You can't for now, I'm not publishing any package until a sufficiently playable state has been reached. I don't even know if androphones such as the nexus, without many keys, will be supported.

The port is nearing a first "alpha". It's not completely ready as any dropbox pickup crashes the game for whatever reason.
Directional keys can be emulated through accelerometer, but you still need 2 keys for shoot and jump. Help isn't ready, I'll see if I can motivate myself to explain the onscreen actions.
