As i stated in the title and description, I need instructions on how to translate, because the info on the site is pure gibberish to me. I want to translate it to lithuanian, because a lot of popular software already is in my language and i wish to contribute.

As far as I know, Lithuania has the lv country code, so the translation file to start from is: http://svn.gna.org/viewcvs/*checkout*/wormux/trunk/po/lv.po (for some reason the forum software won't create a link for that url).

You can use any editor you want, as long as it display correctly the characters already in it (in particular if your language use Cyrillic alphabet). Or you can download this tool.

Once done translating, you can provide the resulting file to us, so that we can include it in the next version of wormux.

There will be a lot of new strings to translate, because there has been a lot of additions, in particular concerning help.

Hi!

I just started translating the game to Basque language. But before doing the 'hardwork' i have a doubt: what .po file i will choose as base file. I have compiled sources successfully but svn's .po files are bigger. Just i want know what .po file to pick for translation as base file.

thks.

If you are working with the svn version, and would like to test easily your changes:
  1. Edit po/LINGUAS, and add the 2 letter code for your language (eu?) there
  2. Either use the above software and use the warmux.pot
    or
copy said file to eu.po, and edit it either your own config text editor or above one.
  3. Edit properly the header
  4. Type make (either in the warmux root svn checkout folder or the po one); this will display any format error
  5. To finally see the translated messages, go to this po folder, and type make install (you may need to rerun configure to set an install prefix other than /usr if you don't wan't it to be installed there)
  6. To run the game you compiled without further installing it, type make run in the warmux root svn checkout.
