Allright, hi everyone, I'm Christopher Stanley from America, and I would like to become a Wormux graphics contributor. (gradually, of course, I'm not really that good yet). So, my thing/style is a mixture of random ideas, skills and any brains I can muster. Comments and critique welcome of course. (btw "Plasma" is used here in the sense of the KDE workspace, Plasma).
The maps (unzip and put the three folders in the Wormux map directory).
maps.zip
Thanks!
NinjaNumberNine
P.S: I'm working on a new background for "Cairo". the one I have now conflicts with the style of the foreground. However, the concept will stay the same.

What about license? To be include in bonus pack or game, we only accept gpl, and we need (please) data-sources (svg, xcf,... depends of what you used).
I can't download your zip now (mediafire seems to be out now, i'll try later)

i'll include these 3 maps in bonus pack tonight, if you're agree about license
I've test you three map. And i think they are very beautiful. But can you change the preview because they are not very beautiful, and could you change the file sky map of the plasma, the two map files and sky are too similar.
Perhaps you could participate in the Wormux Map Creator. http://www.wormux.org/phpboost/forum/topic-77+fr-en-wormux-map-creator-1.php
Nice Work

Oh, sorry- I'm not really sure how to apply a GPL. I'd really appreciate it if you brief me on that process. But really, I sort of THINK in open source. I assume anything I do is open source, but I don't bother with licenses if possible. I guess I should have been clearer there.... I'd be glad to apply the license if you'll kindly explain how. As for the sources for the images, I use gimp for everything, so I've got the xcfs, (most of them anyway, some I forgot to save as xcf) but unfortunately they're very bulky. What would be the best way/place to upload everything in a zip?
Thanks!
Mylad:
Thanks Mylad- that's encouraging. Yes, I know about the preview problem- what is a really good way to make one? I can't recreate all the particles and water in GIMP very easily. I've been working on it, though- Here's some new ones, I'm still working on the new plasma (Just out of curiosity, why does the map tutorial say only "jpeg" format for previews? png with transparency seem to work just fine) :
Cairo:

Mt.Militia (I know I keep switching names for that one, I'll 'set it in stone' soon though)

I think I will enter that competition when I get time.
Thanks!

You don't have to do anything, just need to give data-sources and let everyone doing what they want with the files (but with gpl restrictions of course).
You have to be the author of all drawings, or using gpl or public domain pictures

You mean its really just that simple? I can fit all those requirements easy. I did all the art in Mt. Militia and Cairo, but does the GPL apply to the Plasma map? I created and edited the image, but I did not create KDE or Plasma themselves. Still, they are open source, so I guess that would work out?
Thanks,
NNN
BTW I'd rather you didn't put the Plasma map in the bonus map pack yet. It's still a work in progress...
Another thing is that I lost the xcf to one or two of the images as I mentioned before. Can't a .png image still count as "source" if it's all I've got?

I think the Plasma theme itself is licensed under GPL, so it should be no problem to license your work under GPL, because it is a derivative work. You just have to insert the something like "Used Icons © The Plasma Team" into a file shipped with the map.
cairo: added in extramaps package
