A few weeks ago, we published our latest “PC Games” series (in the lead-up to the release of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning), where we took a look at a few of the most anticipated new titles to hit the PC in the next few years. Since then there has been a rather wild flurry of new PC gaming release dates announced, some of them being mere weeks away – and some of them being as long as months. It is mid-August and thus this article (which we’ve just received confirmation from a representative of the studio) that we’re now focusing on the most awaited PC games of the upcoming season – the ones that are on the verge of being revealed to the public.
First up in our list of new games is a very exciting one. Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is a fan favourite for many fans, as it includes all the upgrades, bug fixes and content improvements that came with the original release. Unfortunately, there has also been a new delay which has pushed the game back to the summers 2020, leaving it all but dead in the water. As of this writing, it is still scheduled to come out this autumn.
Another game that is about to land on the PC this year is Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. This expansion pack, which adds a brand-new continent to the world of The Twelve, features two completely new races, the Samurai and the Windwalker, plus a whole new location to explore, featuring all new quests, new zones to explore and of course, the return of the game’s hugely popular Mist Wolves. The story in this expansion sees the players battling through the Northlands and the Eastsea, which is the area between the Shingleblossom Mountains and the Maelstrom, the giant ocean which separates it from the mainland. There is a whole new city called Ul’dah, situated at a hub called the Cathedral of the Sea, which acts as a central point for the new city state of New Gridania. and is also home to its own new party, the Ul’dah Defense League.
Finally, another popular PC games of the coming season is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). in its early stages, World of Warcraft’s new expansion, the Mists of Pandaria, will feature a new raid dungeon, the Sha of Anger. where players from around the world are asked to unite against the menace of the mogu? who rule the land or defeat the mogu (also known as WotLK)?
World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria will arrive this fall and will serve as a prequel to the upcoming expansion, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, which will introduce players to the much-anticipated world of the Lich King, previously seen in the previous expansion, The Wrath of the Lich King. The wrath of the Lich King is the fifth expansion pack to the game, and it will include new areas, quests, areas, creatures, locations and weapons.
